What is Kundalini?

Kundalini is a concept from ancient Indian spiritual traditions—especially yoga, tantra, and Hindu philosophy—that refers to a latent spiritual energy said to reside at the base of the spine. The word kundalini comes from the Sanskrit kundala, meaning “coiled,” symbolizing this energy as a coiled serpent waiting to be awakened. People pursue kundalini awakening because it’s said to bring about deep spiritual realization, transformation, and expanded consciousness — in essence, a direct experience of the divine within oneself.

What is kundalini life force energy and why is kundalini seen to be different or distinguished from life force energy, and why does there seem to be a sort of awakening that happens with kundalini?

From a channelled session with Ariel and Lynn Paterson

Life force energy is life, in a regulated fashion, with a capacitor slapped on it. The capacitors are the endocrine system and it is the corresponding chakras that run them – they are the step down transformers. A useful analogy here is that step down transformers convert or focus, in a very controlled way, the consciousness into the physical form, creating it and maintaining it.  It is subject to the laws of its plane and that is why there is creation, birth, life, entropy and death. These phenomena arise from the cyclic nature of dimensions ruled by time and space — a continuous rhythm of centropy and entropy.

So the life force is eternal, it is uninhibited at its most refined or subtle level if you will. Kundalini is nothing more than the nuclear fire of the divine presence. Divine fire is another analogy, another metaphor. So the fire has to be tempered or has to be focused in a particular way for it to work in these denser realms. So, life force is what is constantly metered from most individuals in what they want to experience, how they experience, how the soul manifests and controls that in a very metered way — it’s getting your energy card filled up in the post office, it’s metered life.

Life force is eternal; it is uninhibited at its most refined or subtle level, if you will. Kundalini is nothing more than the nuclear fire of the Divine Presence — the divine fire itself, is another analogy, another metaphor. This fire must be tempered or focused in a particular way for it to function within the denser realms.

Life force energy is what is constantly metered out to individuals according to what they wish to experience, how they experience it, and how the soul manifests and controls that flow in a very measured way. It is, in a sense, “metered life” — much like having an energy card filled up at the post office, carefully dispensed in regulated amounts.

Kundalini, on the other hand, is what occurs when the capacitor is removed from a particular circuit. The voltage rises far beyond what the wire was designed to handle. Some people experience this in short bursts, such as during emergencies when adrenaline surges and extraordinary strength or perception occurs. In these moments, it is as though the taps have been opened, the circuit breakers blown, and superhuman capacity is temporarily available. However, the body is not typically capable of filtering or holding that level of energy for long.

Therefore, kundalini is merely the amplification of divine consciousness without capacitance. When this occurs, there is automatically fusing of the lower and the higher in the Now moment. All circuits open, all energy flows, and then — once the crisis or heightened state passes — the circuits re-establish themselves, the breakers come back online, and capacitance is restored so that the physical vehicle does not burn out. This phenomenon relates to what has been explained in other contexts about human spontaneous combustion, and what precipitates that — okay so it is in this situation except the individual does not reach that extreme point, they do not self-combust.

A full, spontaneous kundalini awakening is very possible to do well, but even then it can be extremely disruptive and difficult, often turning one’s life upside down and inside out.  There are many people walking around who have been left damaged by such experiences. For this reason, one comes to understand that kundalini is not to be trifled with, artificially stimulated, or pursued without appropriate guidance and preparation. Attempting to do so is akin to grabbing hold of the end of a live power line that has fallen from a pylon. The intent may be to ground the energy, but if one’s inner “cabling” is not sufficient to handle it, the result can be disastrous — one may be metaphorically blackened from end to end, like a piece of overcooked food left too long on the grill because you couldn’t match, you couldn’t match resonance!

The essence of this wisdom is that resonance must match in order to withstand the voltage of divine fire. If a person were fully in resonance with that frequency, they could touch the end of the cable and remain unaffected. Thus, the wisest approach is to allow life force to unfold naturally under the guidance of one’s own spirit. To force or tempt the divine current prematurely is to risk being overwhelmed by it. The appropriate attitude is one of patience and trust: all in good time, all in good time.

Sexual or Spiritual? ~ Dissolving the Barriers of the Mind.

“If your flame of awareness is burning bright, you will know that sex is not just sex. Sex is the outermost layer; deep inside is love, and even deeper is prayer, and deepest is God himself. Sex can become a cosmic experience; then it is tantra.” – Osho

Beyond our mind-made labels of who we think we are as sexual or spiritual entities, beyond our concepts of sexuality of straight, bi, gay or any other identification we have, is Love. Osho knew this and elegantly shared it in the quote above.

To know thyself as Love, both as an individual and as the One, is the realisation we long for, even we do not yet know it.

It takes a lot of self-trust and courage to really let go into ecstasy – and someone to hold their own heart-space as they give unconditionally to you. Continue reading
